Battle for 1st: Sox and Rays

A weekend series between the teams who are virtually tied for 1st place in the A.L. East. The Rays invade Fenway for a weekend series. In tonights game which there is lousy weather for is between Edwin Jackson 2-2 3.86 and has been a big surprise for the Rays this season and Clay Buchholz who is 1-2 with a 4.08 and has had his ups and downs this season. Saturdays contest should be the showcase pitching match-up between James Shields of the Rays and Josh Beckett of the Sox. Both pitchers have been great as of late. The final game in the series is between Scott Kazmir who will be making his season debut against Jon Lester who has had his ups and downs this season, but was fantastic in his last outing.

The weather has been yucky, but it is starting to clear up abit and I am about a 30 minute walk from Fenway.

Yes it is since the game just started a bit ago. That sucks for me because I am tired already and most likely will not make it through till the end before falling asleep.

Yes they won. I fell asleep before it ended but this was a huge game for them to win because they are going up against Shields and Kazmir in the next to games.

1-0 so far as Shields has not been able to get anyone out. The Sox have gotten 3 hits and have runner on 2nd and 3rd with no outs yet in the bottom of the 1st. C'mon Sox lets rock this guy.
