This is where it has to end: Jays @ Sox

This damn 5 game losing streak must come to end. The Sox will start off against one of the best pitcher in baseball Doc Halladay. He will face off against 4-0 pitcher Dice-K. This should be a great pitching matchup. I just hope the Sox can get more hits than the 2 they got against James Shields. The next two pitching matchups are against some pitchers that are having a bit of control issues. For the Jays in the 2nd game McGowan has issued 16 free passes while Lester has issued 19. In game three of the series A.J. Burnett has been not so hot with a high ERA at 6.07 and giving up 15 walks and Tim Wakefield has really struggled with his control all season long with passed balls and 17 walks. The main thing for the Sox to be successfull in this series is there bats need a serious wake up call.

Lester is throwing game one, not Dice-K.

This will be tough since the Jays just stopped their own losing streak.

Thats what its looking like, according to the Sox website they have Lester pitching game one, Dice-k throwing the second and Wakefield pitching the third game.

Yes the losing streak has ended on a single by Youk off of Doc Halladay. Jon Lester and Jonathan papelbon pitched the combined shutout. 1-0 Sox

    4/30: Red Sox/Blue Jays Preview

The final game of April, the Red Sox will look to end it on a high note. The AL East is still congested with first and last place teams only being separated by 4.5 games. In comparison, the Red Sox finished the month of April last season with a 16-8 record. With a win today the month of April will have produced a record of 17-12, and again the Red Sox ending April in first place in the division (although it still might be a tie).
First month of the season is already over and while the way the Red Sox have gone about winning games might not have been seen as probable; through injury, the flu bug that just swept through the clubhouse and the slow starts by key players, the team keeps staying competitive. Here’s hoping May will see the Sox at full strength and firing on all cylinders.

I am hoping the Sox can get some distance between them and the other A.L. East teams by the end of the month of May.

There has been some great defensive plays on both sides. Adam Lind made a great play for the Rays and Youk & Pedroia made spectacular plays for the Sox.
