Headed South: Weekend Series vs. Rays

The Redsox head down to Tampa to take on the Rays after the Sox dropped 2 out of three at home to the Angels. The pitching match-ups for this series are as follows:

Friday: 4/25: Wakefield vs. Garza- Wakefield is 2-0 with a 3.96 era, but has had some control problems issueing 12 walks. Garza is coming back after only making 2 appearances before landing on the D.L. so we will see what he is got.

Saturday: 4/26: Buchholz vs. Jackson: Clay Buchholz has been pretty good so far this season for a young pitcher winning 1 and losing 1 with a 4.79 era. Jackson has also been a surprise for the Rays winning 2 and dropping 2 with a 4.63 era. This should be a pretty even match-up pitching wise.

Sunday: 4/27: Beckett vs. Shields: This match-up will be the cream of the crop of pitching matchups for this series. Beckett has been pitching very well and pitching 8 innings in his last outing versus the Yanks. Shields has been by far the best pitcher for the Rays with a 2-1 record and a 3.30 era. He is also a strikeout pitcher.

Sox lead the Rays 3-2 in the bottom of the 3rd. Wakefield still struggling with location of his floater. Kevin Cash is really having a tough time catching him.

O.K. guys this is getting a bit ridiculous. I just got home from my schools Musical and found out the Redsox are on a 4 game losing streak. They lost again 2-1 to the Rays. This needs to end NOW!!!!!!!!!

Damn It!!!!! Damn It!!!!!! Damn It!!!!!! Damn It!!!!!! The Sox are now on a 5 game losing streak. What the hell. James Shields pitches a shutout and the Rays sweep the Sox with a 3-0 win tonight. Beckett also pitched very well and I think he had 13 k's.

Shields vs Beckett is a nice matchup but the Rays are a damn solid team. Rays sweeping the Sox is good to see. Sorry

Anytime Halladay takes the hill the chances are good that he will throw a gem, but what really surpised me was the effort that Jon Lester gave. Great job.

Another one run game, another bottom of the ninth win only last night it was Jason Varitek. The Red Sox captain came to the plater with the winning run on second, in the form of Manny Ramirez, and hit a base hit up the middle. Vernon Wells handled this ball a million times better than he did with the one from the night before, but Ramirez still managed to score. Game over. 2-1 win for the Sox. But for the second night in a row, the pitching from both teams was very good. Daisuke managed a no decision, Okajima helped him to that and Papelbon got the win.
