Honestly, after his shitty calling last night, the amount of pity I can expend for him is limited.

He didn't give anyone the outside corner, but other than that, it was decent.

You know, unless his name was Mariano Rivera. That last pitch he got at least three inches off the outside plate on Mueller. Not why they lost, but that pitch was way outside.

He did a bad job the whole night for both sides.

Yah, they showed it on the K Zone and it was outside.

The funny thing about baseball is that no matter how wrong it is...pitchers that are established get a much more liberal strike zone than unestablished or average pitchers. A guy like Rivera pitching, anything close the batter has to be swinging.

Not agreeing with the system but it is what it is...reality.

Absolutely true, and Mueller should have considered swinging. I was just saying.

I would just like to say hello to our offense, good to finally see ya. Why dont you stick around for a while. I just hope we are able to score some runs tomm. Clement once agian pitched great, what a great pick up. Maybe we'll get lucky and wells will show up tomm night. also, good to see Edgar have a big, the guy is good player and I hope he starts playing this way the rest of the season.

Man, sure looks like the s0x got the better in the Wright-Clement sweepstakes.

That could be the most nerve-wracking shutout performance by an SP I've seen in a while. Not inconsistant, just constantly getting into full counts with guys on base.

hopefully they saved some runs for tomorrow...jease...

the only thing that annoyed me today was that fox stuck with the game even when it was a blow out. In the past they've switched to a more competitive game when it was other teams, but because it was sox/yanks they stuck with it.

    Some notes:

-Today, Olerud was 3-5 in his first game of the year
-Every starter in the Sox lineup had at least two hits (wow)
-Renteria is finally getting hot with three straight three hit games
-Clement is now 6-0, which must feel really good for him after his awful run support last year.
    -Nixon did really well today

You can't complain about a game like this. Since Wells and Shoppach (Sunday's starting catcher for you guys with Tek and another catcher in a fantasy league) worked together in ST, maybe they have a system. Tommorow could be really good or really bad.

Did they have any other games on? I'm wondering, because the Cubs game (the other 1 PM game IIRC) was done by the 5th inning, although I guess they could have switched to a 4 PM game (did they have one). They should have. Or maybe they did nationally and not locally.

Well yesterdays game helped calm my anger towards Embree for the moment (even though I still cannot fully grasp why they keep going to him). But it's only 1 win, the amount won by doesn't matter. The BEST thing about yesterday was that Manny went 4-4. Hopefully that will light a fire under his butt and get him focused at the plate.

    A) Welcome to the boards.
    B) You took any other thoughts I had right out of my brain. Love the post.

You're right. Manny is a bit streaky, so if he can get a 4-4, he's often good for a few weeks.
