Red Sox Devil Rays @ Red Sox

    (45-71) vs. (70-47)

    8/13 Game 1: James Shields (9-7, 4.32 ERA) vs. Tim Wakefield (13-10, 4.81 ERA)

    8/14 Game 2: Scott Kazmir (9-7, 3.58 ERA) vs. Jon Lester (1-0, 6.43 ERA)

    8/15 Game 3: Andy Sonnanstine (1-8, 6.35 ERA) vs. Daisuke Matsuzaka (13-8, 3.59 ERA)

Nothing against Tampa Bay but I would like to see the Sox sweep the Rays.

I don't want to see the Sox sweep at all. I the sox need to keep losing! Which they will.

Tim Wakefield chose a really good night to pull out one of those unstoppable starts

Why couldn't Wakefield have thrown one of his crappy nights?

I like Kazmir tomorrow and Dice-K in the rubber match, Sox win 2 out of 3.

I am calling for a Sox sweep here. They haven't been right for a little while and the pressure is building. Here comes the sweep! Get the brooms out fellas.

Great game by Wakefield to beat a pretty good young pitcher in Shields. Game 2 is going to be tough against Kazmir, but with that Boston offense I wouldn't count them out. Game 3 should be an easy win for Boston. From what I saw in Sonnanstine's start against Texas, he has good control but gives up too many hits, and he's averaging a homerun per start this year. The Sox should at least take 2 out of 3.

Wakefield was flat-out dominant last night, a no-hitter through 6 and only 2 hits allowed through 8. Even Julio frickin' Lugo had 3 hits.

The Red Sox are fortunate to face the god-awful Rays

Haha, BronxBomberz, we've been fortunate to face the dregs of the AL after the ASB, too.

The way our offense has been playing, we could have beaten the elite teams also.
