    Javy Lopez was released.

    The catcher.
No more thought of Javier to Javy battery.

This is stupid. They sign him and than release him within months, just because they think that other catcher they have is God?

They traded for him, not signed him, and they only did so because Mirabelli and Varitek were out.

The funny thing would be is if whoever they dealt for Javy goes on to throw a no hitter.

Javy Lopez was among the worst baseball players I have ever seen in a Sox uniform.

    I'm not kidding.

Did the Sox give up the Canadian Destroyer for him?

    yes, it was Stern.

The Red Sox are kings of involving "players to be named later" in trades that they make, what is it, like 5 or 6 this year?

The Eric Hinske deal, the David Wells deal, the Kevin Jarvis deal, the Javy Lopez deal, the Jason Johnson deal, the Mirabelli-Bard deal ... all of these trades involved players to be named later.

    It's really quite frustrating.

Douggie's batting .182 and they released Javy?

I guess it's not suprising, though. They did give the Padres Cla Meredith and Josh Bard to bring Douggie back.

At least Dougie has some defensive capability. Javy didn't hit well and he couldn't play any kind of defense.

They need Mirabelli for Wakefield. If he wasn't pitching for the Sox, Mirabelli would be long gone.

That reminds me, why hasn't Chan Ho Park asked for the Padres to sign Chad Kreuter yet?

is Kreuter an excellent doctor that'd heal Chan Ho of his abdominal issues?

    I'll second that notion!!!!!!!!!

Agreed, but you forgot to mention the terrible job he does handling the pitching staff. I guess he'd be good for a team looking for a DH to bat .230
