Thread: Falling apart?

    Falling apart?

The last few weeks, the Sox have just played like crap. The first two games of this Yankees series have just been disgusting. It looks to me like our playoff hopes are going south real fast. The pitching is atrocious. The way this Yankees series is going, both teams are going to be out of gas for awhile, I don't see any chance of the Wild Card coming from the east with these two beating the snot out of one another's bullpens. Anybody else feel like we've just let the postseason slip away?

I dont know how you guys couldnt see this coming, Ya'll were losing to teams like TB, KC, And Cleveland earlier this month...

Maybe they should have went after some pitching instead of trading pitching prospects and going after Javy Lopez & Hinske...

Im not the Genius that traded for Brandon McCarthy. And my name is certainly not John Gibbons...

I have no idea where you heard Delcarmen. Alvarez was a rumor for Javy, but I haven't heard any confirmation. Why would the Sox trade one of the few good pen arms they have?

I agree about the Sox part, the Yankees are just gaining confidence though. The Central has alot of games against each other as well, will be interesting.

I doubt Delcarmen would get by whoever had 1st crack at him (which wouldn't the O's)...I'm pretty sure KC would have snagged him if he were put on waivers.

For that reason alone, I can't see Delcarmen being dealt. Who wouldn't put a claim on an MLB-caliber RP making the min. salary?

I thought of the same when the giants lost like 12 of 15 or something and got swept by the dodgers last weekend, now they have won 5 in a row.thats why you could never count anyone out.

if he did slip through, all of those GMs who passed on him should be fired on the spot

Pretty much. Delcarmen isn't the next Papelbon or anything. But with teams clamoring for relief help, especally teams looking for young talent flat out, any GM who doesn't put in a claim isn't doing his job

Wishful thinking Roy, I can't see the Red Sox giving up Delcarmen for a platoon player like Hinske. Along with the already brought up fact of he would never clear waivers. The Red Sox really soured on Abe Alvarez, although after seeing Javy Lopez for 2 weeks, I wish they would have kept Abe. Lopez really sucks!!!!! I had heard for years what an awful game he called behind the plate, and boy is that ever the truth, and they steal on him at will. And Roy, I did see this coming, right when we lost the series to Cleveland and then got swept by Kansas City, I was just hoping that the Yankees series would wake them up. I guess there was nothing to woke up though.
