Jon Lester: Could Be On Way Up To Bigs

Update: Without specifically naming Lester, Red Sox manager Terry Francona said the team will likely have a new pitcher starting the first game of Saturday's doubleheader, the Boston Herald reports.

Recommendation: "My guess is we'll have a (new pitcher) to start the first game," Francona said. Lester started Monday night for Triple-A Pawtucket (four innings, four hits, no runs, five walks, three Ks) and is on a course for a Saturday start, though the Red Sox have not verbally given any indication their top pitching prospect will be called up.

If the Yanks/Sox are rained out tonight Johnny boy will be there awhile.

It's cancelled tonight, so that may give the Sox a needed rest. Although I wouldn't be surprised to see them wet Lester's feet, much like they did with Papelbon last year
