    Lakers

These are dark times for us Laker fans....

Being a huge Lakers/Kobe fan, it is rough seeing the harsh reality that father time has caught up to Kobe, but we also don't have much around him in the way of talent....

Losing first round pick Julius Randle on opening night, Melo signing with the awful Knicks.. As a Lakers fan, I AM NOT used to seeing things not go our way.

I'm sure the rest of the basketball world is enjoying this though...

Maybe we should try and help somebody or be somebody
Instead of being somebody that makes the news
So everybody can tweet about it
And then they start to R.I.P. about it
And four weeks later nobody even speaks about it.

Knowing our luck, the Lakers' pick will drop out of the top 5 and become property of the Suns because 2 or 3 teams will leapfrog the Lakers through the stupid fucking lottery.

Anyone watching this abortion as I am? The Staples Center crowd just cheered as Ryan Kelly was mercifully pulled from the game. Blessed.

That got me thinking I want to see a 3-point contest between all-world chuckers Swaggy Pussy, JR Smith, OJ Mayo, Ben Gordon, and Brandon Jennings.

Of course, nothing will change unless The Short Buss steps down, because he will just hire yet another "yes" man, just as he did the last 3 times.

    Re: Lakers

Luke Walton gets a multi-year contract to be back on the Lakers bench, oh the irony.

    Re: Lakers

While following all the head coach stuff I've noticed everyone keeps talking like it's basically a given that Phil Jackson is going to take the same position for the Lakers that he currently has with the Knicks once his contract runs out.

Is there any truth to this?

    Re: Lakers

Well, it's almost a given that Short Buss is going to step down from his position, and Phil and Jeannie are still an item, so go figure.

    Re: Lakers

No draft lottery shenanigans and the Lakers maintain position to get either Ingram or Simmons. Fuck yes.

    Re: Lakers

So, does this mean the Lakers lose their 1st round pick next year regardless? Or is top 3 always protected?

    Re: Lakers

Top 3 protected again in 2017, then unprotected in 2018. If Philly gets the 2017 pick, then the 2018 pick belongs to Orlando with top 5 protection. If Philly gets the 2018 pick, then Orlando settles for 2nd round picks in 2017 and 2018.

    Re: Lakers

Mofo, you follow the team closer than I do.

With Russell, Randle, Ingram, Clarkson, and whoever else and a new coach is there a realistic chance of competing?

This is assuming, of course, this isn't still ongoing drama with the whole Russell fiasco.
