You are playing the race card. What else do you call it when you outright state that the only reason someone might assume his degree is in engineering or mathematics is because he's Asian?

Look. The guy went to a school that's known as a school that the brightest of the bright go to, so people naturally assume that everyone who graduates from Harvard is a super smart person. Couple that with the fact that the imagery depicted in the picture that this is all a response to is pretty much a roughly accurate depiction (or, at least, a crude portrayal of an accurate depiction) of what it takes to shoot a ball into a hoop (players just aren't actively calculating it before shooting in reality, Lin included obviously) and you have the punchline.

For starters, nobody's even assuming he has that degree. It's simply "Harvard graduate + sports star = he's using super intelligence to get it done" and it's just a joke.

To answer your question, no it would not be any different if he were black or white or whatever. The key factor is Harvard graduate.

Ryan Fitzpatrick went through the same kinda buzz when the Bills were briefly decent, and many jokes were made involving his higher education

Show me the same picture of Ryan Fitzpatrick when he had his hot stretch earlier in the year, then we can talk. So yeah it would be different.

So, it's not the same unless it was the same exact delivery? You take cherry picking to an extreme.

jr was jr too. came out of the gates on fire, went totally cold, then knocked down a couple jumpers late... and never stopped shooting at any of those points. he also covered dirk alot of the game, not even on switches, he was just straight up on dirk... him, jeffries and shumpert all spent some time on dirk.

Lin has had a great start, just need to cut back on the TO's, but I'm sure he will work on that as he keeps getting the number of starts under his belt.
