I do beleive that Markakis has made the 25 man roster. What do you think?
Send the only good hitter we had all spring to double A?
21 or not this guy is ready IMO, the talent is there.

is he going to start? Cause if he's just going to sit on the bench, why not let him play every day at AAA?
Yeah well, the O's claimed Raul Chavez off waivers from the Astros, which most likely means that Markakis is headed to Triple-A.
Boy, Raul Chavez. He'll lead them to success.

Then out of fairness to the others you will be Slagathor.
They're going to screw this kid up like they did Luis MatosOrioles manager Sam Perlozzo has dismissed claims of going with less than 12 pitchers on the Opening Day roster, but it appears that is a small price to pay in order to keep outfielder Nick Markakis on the roster. Markakis makes the team, but not Monday's lineup against a lefty. "He might not come out on Opening Day," Perlozzo told the Baltimore Sun, "but he'll get plenty of at-bats. He played extremely well. He forced our hand."

Just as confirmation, Conine is in LF on opening day, with Gibbons on the other side and another 1B/OF in Millar at first base. They have to be careful and give him some good time to make sure he doesn't get messed up...

Sometimes the Orioles front office just makes you want to scratch your head...
"They asked me if I wanted the ball in Game 6, and I said yes. I'll always say yes. That's what I did with Jack McKeon. I told him, 'Let me see how I feel tomorrow.' I went out, did a long toss, came in and said, 'I'll pitch, I want it, I want to do it.' And it ended up working out." -Josh Beckett
He should start and Conine should warm the bench.
Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.

There's no reason for Conine to start. Decent player, but let Markakis play full time.

I'd expect Conine and/or Matos to be on a different team in a couple of months.

Did markakis even get in the game? Anyone know?
Sort of, he and Patterson came in as defensive subs at the end. Conine started.

Hey buddy, I'll have you know that Conine went yard on Opening Day . I agree 100% with Perlozzo's decision to take a left handed bat out of theOriginally Posted by Fishercat
lineup against the left handed Scotty Kazmir, and provide a fleet footed baserunner, a defensive upgrade in the outfield in the later Innings, and more importantly an unfamiliar left handed bat to a possible D-Ray right handed reliever. I understand your point of view, but I have to say that if you have not seen Nick "the stick" yet, then you are going by common sense if that makes sense, although he has yet to start a game above the AA level, my point is I think he's ready, he saw action in the win on Monday, just didn't start against the lefty.
Markakis with a homerun off Dan Miceli just now...kid is for real.
Figures, screw up my fantasy team.
