    Orioles Orioles sign Derrek Lee

Lee signs a one year deal. Hey, if the lineup stays healthy, it's not the worst thing ever. Of course, that means Lee regains some old form, Hardy learns to hit again, Reynolds hits .250 or .260 again, and Wieters takes the "leap".

In all seriousness, it's a solid lineup. Reynolds, Roberts, Lee, Wieters, Ad. Jones, Markakis, and Scott. Obviously the pitching is still a concern, but this team should improve under a full season of Buck Showalter. In theory.

I like this move a lot better than them offering three years for LaRoche. Lee is a bounceback candidate only if that back stays healthy but the infield defense should be improved even after getting Reynolds.

Good move for the Os. Hopefully he can return to pre-2010 form.

Low risk, high reward move... exactly what we need while trying to reshape the club while young pitching matures
