    Orioles O's Sign Wigginton

Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that the Orioles have agreed to terms with Ty Wigginton on a two-year contract.
Barring more moves Wigginton appears likely to be a part-time player in Baltimore, perhaps platooning with either Luke Scott or Aubrey Huff. That could change if the Orioles opt not to make Felix Pie the starter in left field, in which case Scott would move back there and Wigginton could step in as the everyday designated hitter. He'll also be insurance for Melvin Mora at third base, but the Orioles would no doubt like to avoid playing Wigginton there defensively.
Wigginton is a good guy to have on your bench because he is so versatile. Ty will hit for power but is better off not fielding a position but he can if need be. He's a good backup plan in case Mora goes down or if Roberts is traded at some point. No word on the money yet.

I agree. Wiggington is a good hitter without a defensive position. He could be the answer at DH for the O's.

I like the moves the O's made.

They added Pie/Hill/Wiggington and subtracted Olson...

    Pretty good offseason.

According to the Baltimore Sun, the Orioles' deal with Ty Wigginton is on hold while the infielder is being brought back for further examination.
It appears that Thursday's physical turned up a red flag. The Orioles have voided apparently completed deals before, so it is possible that Wigginton will go back on the market. The Reds and Phillies were in on him before the Orioles got him to agree to terms.
Deal not signed yet and interesting to see if it does get done. I think it will but who knows.
