Player Adam Jones...real deal or no?

Personally, I see him just as I saw Jeremy Reed out in Seattle...another overdubbed prospect who has five tool potential but doesn't have the drive to get there.

I love Luke Scott though. I could easily see him becoming a Lance Berkman type of player...granted he is nowhere near as young but he is already one of the Orioles' most solid players.

    Any takes?

His minor league stats are good...

I'm not saying he's not going to be good, I just don't see him being a Grady Sizemore type guy...

    More like Andy Marte

Marte can't play defense worth a shit, Jones plays stellar defense.

The only thing is if Baltimore can build up any, cause that place lately is a killer.. Tejada for example. Markakis is a good piece.

    True...he has gold glove potential...but I haven't seen a hitting spark yet.

Also true...but that's how he's being touted...the best young OF since Grady Sizemore

Ive seen him play at Tacoma, Hes more of a 25 HR, 35-40 SB guy if he plays to his potential. Defensively hes not going to win gold gloves but is very solid. Converted infielder, played shortstop, so if you need a emergency guy, he could play it.

Dry: Reed isn't nearly as talented as Adam Jones, I still stand by my stance on the Bedard deal. I don't think they needed to trade him to get Bedard. Balentien is just as good offensively.

Wait a minute...you think the Mariners overpaid?

Hardly...if Jones reaches that potential it will be a fair deal

I haven't been a fan of the Mariners trading Adam Jones.

Now we are stuck with the .059 hitting Brad Wilkerson.

Scott is not going to be any sort of Berkman player... think more along the lines of John Loewenstein

Jones CAN be the real deal.. the key is putting together the use and progression of the skills to go with the tools

I think he will be a streaky hitter this season as he gets used to the pitchers more in the majors. In the field he is the real deal right now.

Currently, Jones is hitting .253 with just 2 HR and 4 SB...not really what I'd call "All Star Caliber."

That being said, he's thrive since his movement to the #8 spot in the lineup...and he's playing really well at Camden...

So, are you all still convinced he's "the real deal?"

Luke Scott is sucking as well. The Tejada trade is not looking too good for the O's.
