The Baltimore Sun reports Baltimore Orioles SP Adam Loewen (elbow), who missed the last five months of the 2007 season with a stress fracture in his left elbow that required surgery, has been cleared to start throwing.

This is good news for the Orioles. Adam Loewen could be just the starter they need to get them back to .500. They need more than just him to become a contending team, but he could help.
