Fernando Tatis is coming back to the majors.

He's been out of baseball entirely for two years, but Baltimore invited him to spring training, and then stuffed him in AAA.

Now they purchased his contract after he hit .298/.372/.420 with 7 HRs, 8 SBs in 326 ABs.

They sent down Howie Clark to make room for him, and Tatis will take over the role of beng a utility man, sticking mostly to second and third.

Whoo! The man who hit two grand slams in a single inning comes back, baby!

That's great to see. I have liked the guy ever since he broke into the big leagues with the Rangers in '97. He really came into his own when he was shipped to the Cardinals but completely fell apart when he went to the Expos. I doubt he will ever get a starting job again but I hope he can be a quality utility man.
Integrity can accommodate the inadvertent error and the honest difference of opinion; it cannot accommodate deceit or subordination of principle.
