Bedard gets hammered, but not drunk

Erik Bedard was pulled after giving up six runs -- five earned -- in two-plus innings against the Red Sox on Saturday.
Bedard pitched a perfect first, but the Red Sox got four runs on four singles and three walks in the second. The third started with two singles and a double, resuling in Bedard's removal from the game. Fortunately for Bedard owners, Julio Manon was able to stand both runners he inherited. Unfortunately for Bedard owners, the decision to skip Bruce Chen in the rotation means that the left-hander will face the Tigers rather than the Royals next week.

Sometimes the Sox have games like that, where the SP can't stop them. Although I remember Bedard's success against the Sox in better times.

I'm glad I sat him in one of my fantasy leagues...he's definitely not an anchor for me; I just took a chance the Leo can help him reach his potential...he's shown it at times, but not last night and a game against the Jays.
