Cox wants Sosa to start in WBC

    http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/sp...avesnotes.html

The Braves plan for Jorge Sosa to be in their starting rotation, and manager Bobby Cox hopes the Dominican Republic has similar plans.

Sosa will pitch for the powerful Dominican team in the World Baseball Classic, but Cox doesn't know how he will be utilized.

That's a bit of a concern for the Braves, who want Sosa to pitch enough innings this spring to be ready to start when the regular season begins. "If he's going to relieve for three weeks [in the WBC], he's not going to be ready to start" when the season begins, Cox said.

Meh, I wouldn't mind if he wasn't ready to start. We could go with Smoltz-Hudson-Thomson-HoRam-Davies till he's back,.

Except that Sosa is better than three of those pitchers on your list.

Yeah, but if he wants to represent his country, then let him represent his country.

When he gets back, I see Smoltz-Hudson-Sosa-Thomson-HoRam

Rather have Davies than HoRam, to best honest.. I think Cox will try many different combinations, though.

I think we won't see HoRam in the pen this season, unless he really bombs.

    I wouldn't rule out a trade, too.

Whats the latest? I've been out of the loop for awhile.

The latest is Bobby is still in love with HoRam. However, he seems to think that James would make a nice reliever, which I agree with.

Used to be on board with Horacio, now I it's just time to let him go. I don't even think he has any trade value at this point.

Why not convert him to middle relief, work on a refining his best pitches and see how he works out? I don't have much faith in him as a starter, but its worth a shot elsewhere.

Horacio takes forever to get comfortable. That's why he bombed as a RP last year.
