Thread: Braves need a closer.

    Braves Braves need a closer.

I am simply not comfortable with Chris Reitsma as our closer next year. Unless he has fixed his mental issues, that is. Hoffman's just resigned with the Pads, Wagner, Ryan and Gordon are gone.

What do we do? I'd like a closer, please. Hell, at this point in time, I'd take MacDougal as my closer.

Still some closers out there. Todd Jones is comfortable in the NL East and Wickman is still free.

Wickman's probably the best solution. A one-two year deal, till Boyer or Devine are ready. Jones agreed with Detroit.

Where do you read that Jones went to Detroit. I can't find anything and he is not on their roster.

Todd Jones is still available. The Tigers have not signed him.

Todd Jones will return to the Tigers on a two-year deal, according to the Detroit News.
The Tigers have absolutely no faith that Troy Percival will make it back, so Jones is probably going to be the team's closer, with Fernando Rodney occupying a setup role. No financial details yet, but the deal will probably be worth at least $8 million-$10 million.

Well as far as right now, Jones is still available and I am almost sure he would rather play for a team that hasn't missed October since 91 than to go to Tigers who haven't been to October since before 91. But like you said, Wickman is the better choice.

If the Injuns offer him arbitration, I don't want Wickman.

Well now the Tigers have got Jones so that's over.

That's what I've been trying to tell you, yet you kept denying it.

It wasn't a deal yet friend. It's not a matter of denying it, there was no reports or anything except for one site. I can't believe everything one person said or else I would be adopted and blind from masterbation.
