We did good on offense. The pitching was terrible though; we cant win if we give up 12 runs.

Jeff Francoeur's first walk as a major leaguer was of the intentional variety. Akinori Otsuka gave him a free pass in the eighth inning tonight.
The walk came after 127 at-bats and 24 strikeouts. Of course, he's still doing an adequate job for the Braves

John Smoltz surrendered two runs in seven innings tonight in the Braves' 6-2 win over the Padres.
It was the club's first victory in six games against San Diego this season. Smoltz didn't get a decision, as the Braves scored five of their six runs in the bottom of the eighth. He hasn't won since July 31.
