    Braves Jay Powell hurt

Jay Powell left tonight's game with an arm sustained sustained while throwing a pitch.
Powell's second pitch after entering the game sailed 15 high and wide of the plate and he fell to the ground writhing in pain. It was just his fifth appearance since he returned to the majors following Tommy John surgery

That sucks, he was throwing really good for us.

Colon is going to replace him, Powell to DL.

Braves placed RHP Jay Powell on the 15-day disabled list with an elbow injury.
The Braves are only currently saying that X-rays showed a severe elbow injury. We'd be surprised to see Powell back on the mound this year.

    Bad news.

Jay Powell will miss the rest of the season with a broken right arm suffered last night.
Powell broke the humerus just above his elbow. It's the same injury that Dave Dravecky and Tony Saunders (twice) suffered
