    Braves Joey Devine Watch

Joey Devine pitched 1 2/3 hitless innings for Double-A Mississippi on Saturday.
Devine, the 27th pick in this year's draft, has allowed one run in 10 2/3 innings since moving up to Mississippi and one run and five hits in 15 2/3 innings overall. That he does have 10 walks between his two stops could be a sign that he's not ready just yet. Still, the Braves may take a look at him in a few weeks

    Devine update:

Joey Devine earned his fourth save for Double-A Mississippi by pitching a scoreless inning on Friday.
Devine has a 2.81 ERA and a 21/9 K/BB ratio in 16 innings since moving up to Double-A.

Look for him to pitch in the majors when the rosters expand.

Braves purchased the contract of RHP Joey Devine from Double-A Mississippi.
This even though he's coming off his worst appearance at Mississippi (5 R, 1 ER in 1 IP on Thursday). Devine becomes the first 2005 draft pick to reach the majors. He's a potential closer for the Braves, but he'll probably be used in middle relief initially. Non-keeper leaguers may want to wait and see

In fairness to Craig, he got an extremely late start, only signing in late July.
