Devine has great stuff, but right now he's a 1 inning pitcher as hard as he throws it.
Joey Devine was charged with three runs in one-third of an inning tonight against the Braves.
In two appearances spanning two innings, Devine has given up two more grand slams than Jim Palmer did in his career. Jim Brower is looking pretty good right about now.

Devine's done for the season.
Joey Devine might not pitch the rest of the season after an MRI revealed he has a partial tear of a muscle on the inside of his left hip flexor.
Devine said he heard a pop in the second inning of his major league debut, but the extent of the injury wasn't known until after he made a minor-league appearance last week. ''I just haven't been myself,'' he said. ''I was slide-stepping instead of using my normal leg lift because of the pain.''
