Thumbs Up Rookie of the Year Race: It's the Braves award to lose.

Freddie Freeman is on a 20 game hitting streak, and he's just under .300 now (to go along with 15 home runs and 55 RBI). he and Uggla have carried the offense over the last month's worth of games.

Meanwhile Craig Kimbrel continues to be 100mph of awesome. 33 saves, WHIP under 1.00, and 87 strike outs (in 55 innings). It's been since June 11th since he gave up a run.

Both are invaluable to the team, considering the need for offense in the lineup and Kimbrel forming a near unhittable trio to close out games, they have to perform at a high level for Atlanta to have a chance at keeping the wild card and hanging with San Fran, Philadelphia, or [insert NL Central team here].

I say it's Kimbrel or Venters. As good as Freeman has been, Kimbrel and Venters have been absolutely unhittable.

I could see Freeman, Kimbrel and Beachy all in the top five in voting.

This Jose Costanza fellow is pretty interesting. Even if it's a small sample size, it's refreshing to see an outfielder actually hit the ball and field well. Bon voyage, Nate McClouth.

Something like Kimbrel, Freeman, Worley, Luebke, and maybe Beachy or Gee. Espinosa could be higher if he wasn't hitting in the .220s now. Granted, he does hit for power, steal some bases, and plays D but ...he has some less than pretty numbers. He'll get votes though, I'm sure.
