    Braves McLouth's back, Mather DFA'd

Braves activated OF Nate McLouth from the 15-day disabled list.
He's starting in left field Sunday, as the Braves have elected to stick him there and keep Jordan Schafter in center field with Martin Prado out. McLouth was batting .238/.332/.341 with three homers over 164 at-bats before landing on the disabled list in late May.

Braves designated OF Joe Mather for assignment.
Mather got hot for a stretch last month but has just three hits in 32 June at-bats. He cleared waivers before the season and stands a good chance of doing so again and remaining in the organization.
The Braves need an OFer worth a damn if they are to contend come September this year. Mather will definitely clear waivers and McLouth will most likely continue to suck. Ryan Ludwick anyone?

Braves signed Ruben Gotay and Chris Carter to minor league deals. Problem solved.

If he keep hitting like he has the past month and a half, the Padres can definitely get something useful for him.

May has been his only good month. He looks better in San Diego.
