    Braves Rafael leaning to stay?

He has until the clock strikes midnight tomorrow night to accept arbitration. But why would he even want to? Seriously, would you want a team to be able to control where you go by trading you versus having a bit more say in free agency? And what about the money? He could stand to sign a multi-year type deal in free agency and secure long term money instead of making the arbitration amount and then having the chance of injury or a falloff of talent take away his possibilities.

Just doesn't make sense to me. Nonetheless, Jon Heyman has the twitter going on it.

Also, Ken Rosenthal may have more on this soon...

Why? Because he might make more money.

    Apparently he just signed arbitration...

I don't understand how he would make more money this way General.

What I don't understand, in addition to missing out on a guaranteed multi-year deal, is the opportunity. With Wagner, at best he will share time at the closer spot or wait for Wagner to lose it. For someone playing for now the next deal, I don't know... saves = cash money.
