Braves signed infielder Omar Infante to a two-year contract with a club option for 2011.
Infante figured to make $2.2 million-$2.5 million in what would have been his last year of arbitration. This deal will also buy out his first year of free agency. The 27-year-old utilityman hit .293/.338/.416 in 317 at-bats in his first year with the Braves.
Infante is one of the better utility guys in the league. He can play the infield and outfield and can hit too. The Braves are smart to keep him around. Braves have been rumored to Adam Dunn and Derek Lowe recently.
