    Braves McCann's Backup

    The Braves are close to signing David Ross to a two-year contract to back up Brian McCann.
    Ross certainly could have gotten more playing time elsewhere, but perhaps not a multiyear deal. He's a better player than probably a half-dozen of the players who will enter 2009 as starting catchers.
    A return the NL will do him some good. A good pickup for the Braves!!

    I have to agree, very solid acquisition for the Braves.
