WTF happened to that sack of crap? he never gave up walks, (he never struck out people, but if you dont walk anyone, its acceptable) and never gave up extra base hits. just confuses me how he went from good to shitty so fast.

a closer needs to be able to strike people out period. With the exception of the passed ball / wild pitch strike out, runners can't advance or score if the batter strikes out (i.e. does not put the ball in play). The more the ball is put in play, the more likely guys will get on.

I remember him and Cox were giving an interview and Kolb said something along the likes of "I'm a groundball pitcher" and Cox responded with a "Right now, you're more of a line drive pitcher."
