Dodgers at the plate: Jeff Kent had a two-out RBI single off Chuck James in the first inning after Jason Repko singled and stole second. Kent and Repko had two hits each.

Braves at the plate: In the second inning, the Braves strung four consecutive singles off Derek Lowe, with Ryan Langerhans and Martin Prado driving in runs. Martin Prado doubled in the fifth and scored on an error by center fielder Matt Kemp. Yunel Escobar singled, stole second and scored on Brayan Pena's single in the seventh.

Dodgers on the mound: Scheduled Opening day starter Derek Lowe was charged with two runs on four hits. Joe Mays pitched two scoreless innings and Elmer Dessens was charged with an unearned run in two innings on an error by Ivan DeJesus Jr. and Jonathan Broxton allowed one earned run in his inning. Chin-Hui Tsao pitched a perfect ninth inning.

Braves on the mound: Chuck James allowed one run in two innings. Former Dodger Buddy Carlyle and Manny Acosta pitched two scoreless innings each. Tyler Yates, Steve Colyer and Will Startup pitched scoreless innings.

Grapefruit League records: Dodgers 2-2, Braves 3-1.
