Thread: Still talking LaRoche to Pirates

Braves Still talking LaRoche to Pirates

Read some stuff on AJC, BravesCenter, etc.

It just doesn't make any sense to me: we don't need another closer: we got Soriano to be closer-of-the-future, and he's the only Pirates asset available that I consider valuable.

    Frustrating.

Especially with Andruw on his way out after '07. LaRoche was a key asset to the Braves offense and can't see the Braves filling that hole.

To a certain point, I can see JS penciling in Salty at 1B in a year or two, but still, I wouldn't deal him for Mike Gonzalez.

LaRoche don't need to be traded at this point.

I'd trade him if we got the right deal.

Mike Gonzalez is not the right deal.

Straight up for Mike, no. They would have to add another in the deal and the Pirates don't want to.

And I don't see any reasonable addition that might make the deal a good deal for the Braves in my mind.

    Damn, noone posted on this?

Laroche has a beautiful swing, but I think this was the right move. The Braves recognized that the bullpen sucked, and they are doing something about it. Adam's glove will be missed.

It is really sad to see him go though.
