I'm with Draven and KOZ on this one.

Now hold on. I don't see Andruw being traded for the same reason all of you do. JS is a mastermind in terms of FA Acquisitions, and could easily swap some shit for a decent player, like he has in the past. The Braves need starters, but they don't want to overpay. Therefore look for some of their specs to get dealt during a hot streak next year in May or June to acquire whatever piece they need on their way to a playoff run.

Personally, I'd rather rebuild. I'm tired of one year rentals (Sheffield, Drew, Farnsworth). I'd rather rebuild, start over from scratch. We (the Braves organization) pride ourselves on pitching and defense; I think its time we went back to that.

Well rebuilding doesn't mean 2 good years of drafts. It means selecting solid talent for several years, so that when a quarter of it doesn't pan out, you still have stuff to fall back on.

Also, a team like the Braves, with not much between their victorious seasons, will probably try the rent-a-player idea first in their last ditch effort to hold on to the revenue flow they had in the 90's and early 00's. I don't see them moving to rebuild, especially after we have seen teams go into full on rebuild mode (Pirates, Cubs, Rockies, Royals, Devil Rays) and get burned anyway when their supposed top specs reach major league age. Not to mention several teams have perfected the rent-a-player mentality like the Astros, Rangers, and White Sox. Rebuliding on the fly is the best option, something that only the Indians, A's and Angels have really acheived, but if it goes wrong it could lead to a monumental disappointment.

If we could pull off solidifying our minor-league pitching staffs with top pitching prospects while still winning at the major league level, I can't say I would complain.

Yeah but that is virtually impossible to do. It's pick one or the other.

Jones was pulled off waivers. He will at least be a Brave for the rest of the season.
