Diamondbacks optioned RHP Barry Enright to Triple-A Reno.
Enright captured one of the final spots in the Arizona starting rotation this spring, but was exposed early and often once the regular season opened. He will head back to Triple-A having posted a 6.49 ERA in six starts.
I thought Enright would have done a lot better than a 6.49 ERA after watching him last year. He is nothing special but did think he would take a step forward. He finished '10 with a 3.91 ERA and 1.27 WHIP or in other words, a solid back end starter. Josh Collmenter is expected to replace him in the rotation. Collmenter has a career minor league ERA of 3.50 and 8.2 K/9. He has a 1.46 ERA out of the bullpen this year for Arizona.
