An organizational concern about Scherzer's durability? Check.

An acknowledgement that Jackson's been pitching in a tougher league than Scherzer? Check.

A belief that Kennedy's excellent performance in the minors is predictive? Check.
It makes you wonder why their organization even drafted Scherzer in the first place. I know their scouting director at the time, Mike Rizzo, made the call, but Byrnes certainly was familiar with Scherzer and his mechanics.

I have no inkling as to how Scherzer will fare in the AL and Ian Kennedy's minor league performance means nothing compared to his major league performance, which is terrible. But the bottom line is I agree Edwin Jackson is currently the more effective pitcher between him and Scherzer. My call is Arizona got the better end of their trade with Detroit.
