    D'Backs Snyder Gets Paid

ESPN.com reports that Chris Snyder's three-year contract extension with the Diamondbacks is worth $14.5 million in guaranteed money.
The deal is said to include a fourth-year team option that would push the total value to around $20 million while buying out Snyder's first two seasons of free agency. An announcement is expected to come as soon as Tuesday.
So the Dbacks did decide to spend money this offseason, it was just on someone they already had. Snyder's power goes up as his BA goes down. Snyder is a defensive catcher so his offense is a plus. Good deal for the Dbacks, great deal for Snyder.

    Re: Snyder Gets Paid

Snyder is not too bad of a hitter, so I'm rooting that for his offense to be just good enough that they won't have room on the roster for James Skelton.
