The Yes Way Jose Thread - aka Bautista is awesome

    #beastmode

This guy is unreal. He's hitting at Barry Bonds levels this year. He doesn't swing at balls. He's leading the majors in HR, OBP, SLG, ISO, OPS and WAR. He's doing all that while only playing missing 8 of 40 games so far.

Over under: 54 HR? I'm taking the over.

I said before the season that I thought Bautista was a fluke to some degree by not going to repeat his 54 HR performance. I am recanting that now. I thought pitchers would have a book on him but apparently they still don't. Bautista is in beast mode!

As someone who watched Bautista for years versus the Reds, it is REALLY hard for me to associate the Pirates' Bautista with the new and improved Blue Jays version.

Year of the pitcher? The dude just smashed three bombs in one game in a very pitcher friendly park.

If pitchers would stop throwing him middle-in, things would be better for the AL pitchers.

Yes he has hit a total of three homers to the opposite field over two seasons. That's three out of 70!!

Re: The Yes Way Jose Thread - aka Bautista is awesome

Just saw on ESPN First Take Skip and friends discussing Bautista and their baseball knowledge showed through as they all of course jumped straight to the conclusion that Bautista is cheating. They are course know nothing about the evolution of his swing and the fact that last year was just his second full season as a regular. Then Skip was amazed that he is doing this at the ripe old age of....30, the middle of a player's prime. It makes me sick that people who don't know or follow baseball just immediately jump to the steroid route when talking about Bautista. Its not fair to Bautista for these media members to make unfounded claims like this. I know this is the world we live in now but it doesn't have to be. Media members are increasingly becoming more and more irresponsible.

They're paid to stir up shit, unfortunately.

You'd think he has been tested the last couple of seasons and we would have known by now. I'd be shocked if he steadily used, he just doesn't seem to have the physical tell-tale signs we're accustomed to.

Its not even them stirring up shit. Its just their ignorance about the sport and about Jose Bautista. They have no idea about the changes he made in his swing.

Granderson has been more impressive to me only because Bautista did this last year.
