LSU in 3 games. Texas has been flirting with elimination too many times. It comes back to bite them in the ass this time. LSU is just too damn good.

What a game. Texas hits 5 solo home runs. LSU comes back and takes the game to extras. LSU wins it in exciting fashion in the 11th, going up 1-0 on Texas.

Texas starter Taylor Jungmann goes the distance, giving up only 5 hits, and just one unearned run, while striking out 9. Texas wins game two 5-1, to even it up at a game a piece.

For all the marbles tomorrow night.

(Interesting note: the last 2 teams to force the game 3 have both won the National Championship...Oregon St in 2006 and Fresno St in 2008)

LSU takes an early 4 run lead, but Texas comes back to tie it up.

Then the wheels fall of the Longhorns' wagon, as LSU scores 7 unanswered runs to win the school's 6th NCAA Men's College World Series National Championship.

Congrats to LSU for playing a great series and taking home the title.

Re: 2009 College World Series

Well, Kyle, it's a bit easier to pick the # of games in a 3 game series than in a 5 or 7 gamer...

Honestly, in a best of 3, especially for the championship, it's just a matter of who wins, because the vast majority go to 3 games.
