I see crap like that on people's facebook pages while just kind of sifting around FB through people's pictures and such and I just roll my eyes. "nobody loves me if you don't `share` this".

The other one is people that post shit they think is funny and they request stupid crap like this: "like if you lol'd". Really? I always wondered what that `like button` was for. Thanks for telling me though, I needed to know that I should "LIKE" your unoriginal joke that YOU didn't come up with but copied from someone else's page and then posted as if it's your own personal, private joke? People are such attention whoors.

Not that I don't agree with the importance of not taking your significant other for granted, but preaching it like this seems like rationale for cheating to me.

I could see that argument, though I don't take it that way.

To me the focus of the argument should simply be that if you take him/her for granted (at least this one doesn't specify "her" like it does most of the time I see this posted...) you can lose him/her and nothing more.

The second you start talking about another person who can step in and appreciate him/her in your place it sounds too much like you're saying that the taken-for-granted party can justifiably move on to said person because, well, he/she was being taken for granted in the current relationship.

But they can move on to said person at any point in time, after terminating the previous relationship, of course. I think if the person lands with someone else, it feels more...painful and final than just the relationship ending, more of a "have lost" feeling and that's why it's added in there.

Regarding the earlier post, this one is more appropriate. It doesn't include any self-justification for cheating on the other person but still manages to express the same sentiment. (Although, unlike the other one, it does specify "her" as if guys are the only ones who ever take their significant other for granted...)
