Attention! The Return of the Movie Pick 'Ems: The Blazing Edition

This week marks the opening of the HILARIOUS comedy... Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance starring Nicolas Cage... wait. It's not supposed to be a comedy?

    Well shit on that.

Apparently it's also in 3D. Oh dear God. Nic Cage in your face, is perhaps far scarier than anything Paranormal Activity has offered.

    http://www.baseballslant.com/blogs/k...vengeance.html

The first film, which was one of the worst comic book adapted films ever, made nearly 230 million world wide. It made roughly 600 billion world wide in terms of bad, bad reviews and Nic Cage jokes.

How much will this movie make?
    Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
    Ted
: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
    Barney: Circle gets the square!

"The Vow" had the help with opening on the weekend before Valentine's Day.

The first Ghost Rider did well, would expect the 2nd to do well, Nicolas Cage is a pretty decent box office draw even in crappy movies.

I swear to God. My reaction when it made 40 plus million was....what the hell? And then Safehouse made almost A's much...were people that bored this weekend?

Ghost Rider goes against the date flick with Reese Witherspoon. Has good actors, Tom Hardy and Chris Pine but Reese will cause it to tank. If only they subbed her out for like...Zooey Deschanel or something, it could do damage. She's box office kryptonite these days.

My wife desperately wants to see "This is War" so it will do well I would assume. And the synopsis of the Vow... Woman gets amnesia, husband try's to get her to remember and it has rachael McAdams... Get the notebook it's the same damn movie.

Wait, The Vow beat Safehouse? Can we just ban women from seeing movies now?

The real reason to see Ghost Rider 2, though, is to see which strange haircut Nick picks this time.

43 or 44 million. Last weekend was one of the best non holiday weekends in the winter ever for movies

Ahhh, it was a lot closer than I thought.

41.2 for The Vow, 40.2 for Safe House. Then 2 more in the 20 millions? Damn. It was definately an awesome movie weekend.

I could never take Rachael McAdams seriously as Allie in The Notebook, though. Or what's-his-name as Noah, either. Nothing against either actor, I definitely get that it's tough to pull it off without adapting the spiritual elements from the book, i.e. the letters and poems he gives her.
