    Re: Short-armed Red Sox @ Long-armed Rays 9/9-9/11

It was a battle all night, then it seems to turn the Red Sox way after Farnsworth blows the save giving up two runs allowing the Sox to tie it up in the 9th. Once the game got down to the pens and the subs in extra innings it falls down to who blinks first and it was the Red Sox.

Now the Sox are facing a possible sweep the Rays trying to inch closer in the WC race.

    Today’s match ups

Jon Lester has been dominant in recent starts limiting opponents to one or no runs in 5 straight games.

James Shields got his 11th CG against the Rangers limiting them to just one run to get his 14th win.
