The Rays got mauled by the Tigers losing 3 of a 4 game set, beset with unusual plays by accident and even “planned”. The pitching was still masterful but the offense fell back asleep hitting just .138 with runners in scoring position during those 4 games with Detroit.


The Jays are coming off a split series with the A’s and lost 2 of 3 to the Royals. They are having a bad weekend already, Travis Snider has probably been shut down for the season, Colby Rasmus has gone to the DL and Manager John Farrell has pneumonia.

Tonight’s Match ups

Shields is 11-10 with a 3.05 ERA, he struggled in his last start allowing 7 runs on 12 hits in 7 1/3rd but came away with a no decision, the Rays did come back with a walk off from Damon in the 9th.

Henderson Alvarez is 0-1 with 4.32 ERA, he allowed 2 runs on 7 hits giving up just one walk against the A’s in his last outing and his first quality start in his third game since being called up from the minors.
