Sean Rodriguez’s comeback to ridicule from the Tigers winning pitcher from Tuesday night??? Keep your 1 cent to yourself. Brad Penny balked at Sean for hustling on what he felt was routine fly ball, a few F’s were exchanged and noting more came of it. That is, until the 10th inning of Wed. game. Anyone that watches the game regularly knows that “routine” plays can easily be fucked up.

Longoria started the 10th with a single, Zobrist grounded into a force out, erasing Evan. Kotch was HBP, SRod drew a walk. Johnson at the plate he grounds to third, Inge decided to throw to second (for a routine force out) instead of stepping on 3B to get CK. Santiago wasn’t set up for the throw and Sean beat him to the bag because he HUSTLED! So there Brad, pitchers shouldn’t try to manage opposing clubs.

Rodriguez is one of the few that actually listens to Maddon when he talks about running out every play and Maddon said as much after the game, hope Upton was listening.

    Today’s Match ups

Doug Fister is 2-1 with a 4.57 ERA. He went 7 innings giving up just one run and punching out 7 against the Indians.

Jeremy Hellickson is 11-8 with a 3.04 ERA. He pitched 8 scoreless innings versus the Mariners on Sat. He has delivered quality starts in each of his past eight outings at home and has gone 5-2 with a 1.84 ERA in those starts.

With his double in the ninth on Wednesday Johnny Damon tied Mark Grace for 45th place on the all-time list with 511 doubles.

Miguel Cabrera was out of Thursday line up to go to Miami to be with his wife for the birth of their third child. Tigers called up C Omir Santos.

Another weird ending but this time the Tigers came out the winners even with another good pitching performance from Hellickson.
