    Cardinals Cards sign Felipe Lopez

    The Cardinals signed infielder Felipe Lopez. He was released by the Nationals last Tuesday. He's hitting .234 this year with a .314 OBP ()

    The good news for the Cards is the Nats will pay most of his $4.9 mil he's earning this year

    Lopez can play almost any position, so he'll most likely be used as a utility infielder, with occasional outfield time

    i don't mind this signing at all. get him on the cheap. he was a very good shortstop for the Reds. maybe he can be reborn in St. Louis like all of the other journeymen. he'll be a good backup... i'm looking forward to seeing him in a Cardinal uniform now.
