Wakamatsu Gets Karate Chopped

According to Seattle's ESPN 710 AM, the Mariners have fired manager Don Wakamatsu and pitching coach Rick Adair.
Bench coach Ty Van Burkleo has also been let go by the Mariners, according to the station's "Brock and Salk" morning program. It's not a surprise, really, given that the Mariners have greatly underperformed this season and Wakamatsu had an altercation in the dugout recently with infielder Chone Figgins. Both Wak and Adair are well respected and should find jobs easily. Daren Brown has been promoted from his post at Triple-A Tacoma and will take over as the Mariners' interim manager for the time being.

Wak and the front office have not been on the same page so this comes as no shocker. They have been terrible this season but some of this has to go on the front office that just fired him but since no one ever fires themselves, Wak got the boot. Happy trails.
