Mariners What's the worst trade in Mariners history?

Brandon Morrow for Brandon League is looking worse with every Morrow start it seems.

Rafael Soriano for Horacio Ramirez wasn't a particularly good one.

    Any good suggestions out there?

League has been a quality reliever, I don't think you can call that a bad trade. Then again, it's not like anyone expects you to think much.

At least in modern times, this was regrettable: July 31, 1997: Traded by the Seattle Mariners with Derek Lowe to the Boston Red Sox for Heathcliff Slocumb.

The only talent they got out of Junior was Mike Cameron. At least he had decent moments, but it was Ken Griffey Jr.

July 31, 1997: Derek Lowe and Jason Varitek to the Boston Red Sox for Heathcliff Slocumb.

That trade is the worst, period.

Brandon Morrow is shit when he is away from the Rogers Centre.

You know, even the worst trade in Seattle's franchise history is nothing compared to their worst free agent moves ever.

    Exhibit A:

    Exhibit B:

    And Exhibit C:

Beltre at least did something worth keeping, just not at his price. The other two were bad but they didn't give up PROSPECTS like they did for Slocumb.

Mike Cameron hit more HRs than Griffey over the span that Cam was in Seattle and Griffey in Cincy. Plus he won GGs and helped lead the M's to 116 wins.

Yes, Varitek and Lowe to for Slocumb has to be the worst.

116 wins and a first round exit, and we haven't really heard from the Mariners since.
