He is very mediocre and the Giants need to start looking at Affeldt to close games out and see if Wilson can work on his command. How he was an All Star last year I'll never know. Wilson is just as big of a headache as Armando Benitez. How many closers do you know with a career ERA over 4.42? The answer, zero. If Merkin Valdez had any sort of consistent pitching schedule, I would give him a shot at closer but since Bochy can't manage anything, I would stick with Affeldt.

Thanks! I've been reading these all year, I didn't realize i hadn't made any posts. 1.5 games up on the wild card, and 2nd best record in the NL! I'm exicted to be going to the game tomorrow in Milwaukee! |

According to Elias Sports Bureau, courtesy of ESPN.com, yesterday was the seventh time this season that Santana and Rodriguez teamed up for a win and a save, which ties them with San Francisco’s Randy Johnson and Brian Wilson for highest win-save combination total in the majors this season.
He sucks enough to be part of the highest win/save combo in the MLB....tied with a top 3 SP in the game and a top 5 Closer in the game.... |
