Virgil Vasquez gave up three runs in 5 2/3 innings Friday in a loss to the Blue Jays.
It's an improvement for Vasquez, who lowered his ERA to 7.62. He's still under consideration for a rotation spot, but the opening will almost surely go to Jeff Karstens. Vasquez has allowed 17 hits, walked six and struck out five in 13 innings this spring.

Wait what, I don't know the details of this Tabata story but it sounds really really weird.
