To get this thread back on line, I'll guess Gary Gaetti. He hit .230 in 145 games (117/508). He did, however, hit 25 homers that season.

You sir, are correct. Mr. Ward created 430 outs that year. Mr. Gaetti came in at a close second with 428.

The difference in batting averages got me there. Ward hit .289 and was considered one ot the better hitters on the team and Gaetti hit .230.
Who holds the Twins' record for IP in a season?

Correct. Not likely anyone will beat that record with the 5-man staff and the fact that starters who pitch 6 innings are considered to be "work-horses".
