If you guys get him, I bet it is at a good price. The Twins usually make good moves from an economic standpoint. Yet, I remember just yesterday that the Nats were turned down for their lack of money offered.

Anyhow, with Mauer's extension looming, I wonder how this plays out.

1 year deal at 5 million. It would be nice to offer a player like this an extra year to there deal. One year is never enough!

The deal includes a guarantee that the Twins will not offer him arbitration if he is a type-A free agent. Overall, it is a very good deal and he seems to be excited to play for the Twins.
