    Marlins Giancarlo Stanton cleared waivers

    So apparently the 29 other teams didn't want to risk that the Marlins wouldn't revoke and instead ditch the remainder of that ridiculous contract.

    Trading him now... maybe 3 or 4 teams would try. Off-season maybe a lot more interested when there is 'hope' for a new/good season.

    I mean, I'd love to get Stanton to try to match the Rockies' firepower at Coors Field if our teams meet in the postseason, but it won't happen since him clearing waivers means the Marlins are in position to demand actual players in return instead of settling for a salary dump.

    That would be a GREAT first impression for the Jeter Group. Let's just give away a top player to whoever claims him.

    It really will be interesting to see what the Marlins do with Stanton. I honestly don't see Jeter and his group getting rid of him but you never know.
